Retail landscape for Northpoint Shopping Centre, Toowoomba — a standing-stone entry garden, tree-lined carpark islands, a covered walk and boundary planting of figs, silver ash, flame trees and weeping lilly pilly.
Northpoint is a neighbourhood shopping centre in Toowoomba. The landscape gives the centre a planted, recognisable arrival and breaks its large carpark into shaded, legible rows.
At the street entry, a group of upright basalt-style standing stones rises out of a mulched garden of agaves and grasses beside the centre sign — a simple, durable marker that announces the site to passing traffic.
The site plan sets carpark islands with tree planting between parking rows, a covered walk linking parking to the retail frontage, and boundary planting around the medical centre, retail tenancies and open-air carparking. Flush kerbing, standard kerbing and wheelstops are coordinated with the planting layout.
